Bible Verse of the Week #22

Hey ladies! I thought about doing something different, again! :-) This post is about various "journeys" that appear in the Bible. I found these all a while ago and wrote them on a notecard, but I haven't posted about them yet, so here you all are!

Genesis 28:20-21
Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the LORD will be my God.

Deuteronomy 6:7
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Deuteronomy 11:19
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Judges 18:6
The priest answered them, “Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD’s approval.”

1 Kings 19:7
The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.”

One Spanish Day...

... We had a party. Indeed we had a party because it was the Spanish Independence day. :-) So we got to celebrate! On this lovely party day, someone brought REALLY spicy homemade salsa. (It was a Spanish party, remember?) There were only a few people that dare to try this salsa. I did not wish to try it because I'm not a Mexican food kind of person. Then, one boy in my class, I call him Aaron, thought it would be fun to try a whole chip full of this spicy salsa. Let my {horrible} pictures show you what happened! :P

 ^The only good picture. "Am I really going to do this? What did I get myself into?"
 CRUNCH!
 I am appalled by these pictures, but I couldn't think of a good post. So, here ya go. Nothing happening.. yet.
 "I did it! And it isn't spicy!"
"Oh no, oh no, oh no!!... AH!"
Yeah. By the end of this picture, he was out the door and by the drinking fountain. He ended up getting a milk carton to wash it all down. :D

I hope you laughed today!

 Man, he has long hair!
 ^He's darling isn't he!?
 You can barely see it, but their pool is in the backround.
 Giggles!
 He already loves reading. Fantastic!

 I LOVE his eyes!
 ...I held him.

I hope you liked them! Have a good rest of the weekend!

Fall 2011

It's about that time of year again. The time where everything changes color and the weather gets a little cooler (especially here in Minnesota!).

1) Outfits

It's that time of year where you bring out bulky sweaters, jeans, and sweatshirts. I wear them almost every day! It's almost like getting a whole new wardrobe because you haven't worn them for so long. But trust me, these will soon be old to me.

2) Leaves
The leaves are changing. We have already had a day that had frost on the ground. :( Yes, it's sad, but I kind of like when weather changes. Why? I really
don't know. :D

3) Flowers Dying
   Sadly, flowers are dying. I'm really upset because they are my favorite things to take pictures of! What am I going to do? Yes, I will find something to take pictures of, but all of the vibrant flowers are going to be gone! :'(

4) Walnuts falling
All of our walnuts are falling off of this one tree. They are all over! Luckily, people hardly ever go by that tree because it's in the corner of our yard.

5) Crops
The last of the crops are being picked. Not only tomatoes, but a lot of corn is still being harvested in the fields.

 6) Tree
I took this picture because in a month or so, it will look totally different. I thought this is a good way to "document" what a tree looks like and changes.

It's amazing how much life changes around you!  I hope you have a fantastic fall even with school.

Bible Verse of the Week #21

I have another GREAT interview for you all! I hope you enjoy this one because it's from one of my favorite teachers. I don't like "favorites." She is my Earth Science and U.S. History teacher, she's been to Russia, the one, and only, Ms. Wilke! (reread that last sentence and try it in a gameshow voice! :D)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
          Philippians 3:13- Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining for what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
2. Why?
          It is important to look ahead because what was in the past, doesn't matter much anymore.
3. What does this verse mean to you?
          Being able to be free, all that you can be for God.
4. Do you know any songs that relate to this verse?
         No...
5. What one word comes to your mind when you hear this verse? Why?
         Freedom: Being able to run well, gives me a sense of freedom.
6. What piece of advice can you give me and people my age about this verse?
        Don't let things of the world stop you from what God has planned for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wasn't that a good piece of advice? I love this verse! If you are a Cross Country runner or track runner, this verse would be a VERY good one to memorize!

Thank you Ms. Wilke!

Sophia|Teenage session

One recess, I decided I really wanted to take pictures of my friend. So, therefor I did! Here are the pictures of my friend Sophia.

 I didn't exactly tell her I wanted to take her pictures, but you know, she loved it!
 I'm personally not a big fan of ^this picture, but she liked it so, you know, that's a compliment and I love getting compliments!
 I got a lot of good pictures, so be warned.
 ^My favorite of the session!
 Do you see her earrings? Yeah, I made them! She is the only person that really likes my earrings and buys them.
 When we first were taking photos in ^this spot, we didn't know that there were ticks. The *principal* (because we were at school) said that we shouldn't go there because there are ticks. *aka, my dad.
 ^Thanks to Belle at livineachday4him.blogspot.com I was able to get this picture to look really cool from a technique she taught me.

 What a pretty girl!

I have BIG news! I am having my first real session coming up. We are planning it and everything! I am going to be taking pictures of a baby girl, also named Sophia. I am SO excited and I will definitely be sharing pictures! :D

Have a blessed Tuesday everyone!

Labor Day Flowers|Part 2

Sorry it took so long to get this post up here. I finished the whole post, to realize that it wasn't saved and I no longer was signed in. :'( So, that is one reason that I think is the only good reason.
Without further ado...
more flowers!

 First time I ever saw this flower. I really like it though, don't you?
 Bumble bee!
 ^That flower looks SO perfect! Doesn't it?
 I love how the back, white flower is out of focus.

How do you guys like my "signature" at the bottom at the photo? Please tell me what you think!!

P.S. What that technical word where I put signature? I totally blanked out!!

Bible verse of the Week #20

This week is going to be a little different because we now have reached 20!!! Yeah! So, I am interviewing a teacher of mine... Well, an old teacher of mine. My 2nd grade teacher.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is your favorite Bible verse?
          John 3:16
Why?
          It was my confirmation verse and it really just says it all.
What does this verse mean to you?
          It means that Jesus is my Savior and He is who I can depend on for everything.
Do you know any songs that relate to John 3:16?
          Jesus Loves Me, God so loved the World that He Saved
What one word comes to your mind when you hear this verse?
          "Forgiveness," we have forgiveness and we'll have eternal life with Him.
What piece of advice can you give me and people my age about this verse?
          This is the key to our faith and if you'll keep it in your heart, your faith will grow strong.
Lily|Two-year old session
I'm sorry I didn't post all weekend. I was SUPER busy. I babysat all day Saturday and I was gone and doing homework all day Sunday.
~~~~~~~~~
So on Saturday I took pictures of a two-year old girl I babysat. It felt like an actual "session" because I had props and it wasn't a family member. :-)

 ^Bad picture, I know. The pictures get WAY better though!

 Oh.my.goodness.adorable!!!

 ^My favorite!!!
 Wait! No this one's my favorite!

 I love that dress!
Short story: "Lily! Smile for the camera!!!" Yep! That's what I get, every time I say that!

Have a good week everybody!
