Merry Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas from me and my family to you! I hope your day is filled with many blessings and time well spent with family.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:6-7

For the four weeks of Advent, my church's focus was around those verses. Each name {Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace} was each talked about one Sunday of Advent. A question that was often raised was, "Who would have thought?" I really like that question now. Who would have thought that Jesus would come down as a baby and be born in a stable, a manger? Who would have thought that He would be born of a virgin? Who would of thought that an innocent little baby would soon save the whole world? Who would have thought? God knew how everything was going to happen. In the same way, He knows what's going to happen in our lives as well. We just have to let Him do His work. So this Christmas, I challenge you to dig a little deeper into God's Word and listen harder to what He is calling you do.

Natural Beauty

As I step out into the beautiful lightened sky, I feel a cool breeze on my face and fingers. That doesn't stop me. I walk all around the house taking pictures of every possible beauty that I come across. I discover the beauty of snow during golden hour all over again. I stumble upon bunny tracks. I locate where my next step will be. I unearth the loveliness, magnificence, and exquisiteness of the word that we call snow. Snow. It's been so long since we've seen you, snow. You bring a new change of season. You bring excitement to others. God has granted us with yet another natural beauty.

"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."
John 1:3 ESV

H. Kids | Sibling Photography

The H. Family has been on the blog before. They are a family in the neighborhood that I often babysit for. This wasn't a scheduled shoot, but I took these right after I got my 50mm. (I had to "test" it out) No picture is a perfect pictures, so I can improve on a lot of things. I really enjoyed shooting this family, even though I didn't always get a perfect smile. We met another little boy that we saw in the park's tennis courts. It was so cute watching the kids run around and being kids. I didn't post any of those pictures, but maybe I will another time.

Do you have a favorite picture?

P.S. I think/hope the blog's working again!
P.P.S. I'm taking more pictures of this family this weekend!

Pinspiration {v. 1}

He is in control!
John 16:33
Pray hard.
this is really beautiful! <3
I'm truly sorry for neglecting my blog for a long time again. I should have notified you all. Pictures are not uploading for me, therefore I have had nothing to post about... until I just realized I could copy and paste pictures. This seems like something that could become a series for me. Hopefully I can work out this whole blog problem. I've been doing my best to catch up on a few blogs. Thank you all for your patience.

What's new? There's a lot new with me! Over the weekend the lovely Minnesota received about a foot of snow... almost out of nowhere. We didn't have snow one day, and the next... boom!, tons of snow. I can't wait to share pictures. I've also been enjoying life in high school. I am involved in band (I play the flute) and other after school activities. Being in a public school has strengthened my faith life like crazy! I can't go a day without thinking of Christ and praying to Him. I am also enjoying this Christmas season. :)

How's your life going?

G. Wedding {my p.o.v}

This past summer, I went to my third wedding, which happened to be my Spanish teacher's wedding. It was half in Spanish, and half in English... a very small, unique wedding. She was soo pretty and I'm blessed that I could go to their wedding. (p.o.v. stands for "point of view" if you didn't catch that) There was a violin player that just sounded marvelous! It was so pretty! Weddings are definitely fun, but if I was to be a wedding photographer, I think I'd get really tired and paranoid with the long day and doing everything that the bride wants.

Anyway, do you like weddings? Have you been to quite a few unlike me? :P

S. Family Portraits

I believe I told you all that I'd post about Sophia's family pictures. Well, here they are! This family is SO much fun! They are full of energy and the kids are SO polite. It got a little hectic because the mosquitoes were out, but I do believe I got some good pictures. :) And of course you get those really cheesy grins or those "I'm-hating-this" face.

Which picture is your favorite?
