{A Couple} Photography Tips | Macro

Last week, meaning Monday through yesterday (Friday), I did a photography camp. I learned a lot and I would like to share with you a couple things that I learned. Today I'll be posting about the Macro setting.

mac·ro

–noun

3.
anything very large in scale, scope, or capability.
4.
Photography . a macro lens.
1)When you are shooting in Macro, get close. Like REALLY close!! 2)Remember to use different angles, angles, angles! A picture is more exciting when you use different angles. 3)Focus is key. The focus should be on the main "subject" of the picture. 4)Use your zoom and watch your settings. You don't necessarily need to get physically close to an object, the focus might get off. Use your zoom to get close to an object. What it means by watching your settings is making sure there isn't a person in the backround or a dead leaf that you don't want in the picture. Maybe even a bug that you don't want. Here are some of my macro pictures:

I am in love with this picture! The frog is SO cute!

I hope you learned something and be looking forward to more photography tips!

Wind Mills

When I go to Nebraska, I always pass by hundreds of wind mills. They are fun to look at and they save energy! (this is a really short post that I made a while ago... so I'm just posting it now!)

Okay, short story: when I went to Colorado, we saw a lot of trucks with just one of the "spikes." I don't know what their called. The things that rotate around.
Pretty sunset!

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Our computer isn't working right, I had a camp this whole week, and then my cousin was over. I'm going to be gone a couple days next week again. Just a heads up!

Have a wonderful day serving the Lord! :-)

Bible verse of the week #14

I love this verse! It was the first used in my other post called "The truth is...". The reason I love this verse is because God made us so wonderful, that we should be afraid of what He has done because it is SO amazing! :-) God made the entire world in 6 days; from caterpillars, to people, to the sun, the sky, and trees! I think in the modern society, people get caught up on other things, such as electronics, and don't fully understand what God had done. Seriously people, God is more than amazing! Words can not describe what God has done for us. I challenge you to study one thing, such as caterpillars, and realize that that isn't even a portion of what God has made.

Have a wonderful day! :P

The truth is...

The truth is…you are fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139:14)

The truth is, God is radically in love with you. He knows your every thought and action, and is crazy about you! (Ps. 139:1-2)

The truth is…God’s word is the way, the truth and the light. And God’s love for you shines brightly like the day! (Ps. 139:11-12)

The truth is…God made you His masterpiece and has given you all you need to serve Him – it’s awesome that you’re doing that through VBS! (Ephesians 2:10)

The truth is...God loves you so much and will always be there to guide you through whatever life throws at you! (Ps. 139:9-10)

The truth is…that God loves you so much and wants you to remember that he will always be there to strengthen you and help you! (Is. 41:10)

The truth is…God rejoices in you and wants you to come to Him with both your prayers and your praises. In turn, he promises to give you peace and rest in Him! (Phil. 4:6-9)

The truth is…the Lord your God is with you, and He is mighty to save. He delights in you and rejoices over you. You are His. (Zephaniah 3:17)

The truth is…God treasures you and has amazing plans for your life! He wants you to seek Him and in turn He promises to listen to you and guide you! (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

The truth is…God loves you infinitely? He’s known you from the moment your existence came to be, and will never ever stop! (Ps. 139:13)

And the truth is…no one in the history of the world has greater love for you than God, who sent His son for you! (John 15:13)

Purdy Flowers

Once again, I have an enormous amount of flower pictures to share with you. They are just beautiful! I took some of these at my grandparents house. It's nice to go to different places because you see different flowers!! :-)

I like how this picture has the leaves and the flowers. Very pretty!
Flowers are truly a work of God! They are beautiful!
^^^ This is why I photograph! I mean look at that picture! I just love it!
This picture reminds me of a) one of my other pictures and b) a picture that Kiley took.
This flower reminds of Hawaii. Anyone been there before? I haven't but doesn't it look kind of like a Hawaiian flower? I think so!
Marigolds. Marigolds are capable of producing all summer long.
I think I overedited this ^^^ one. Oh well, it looks cool right? Kinda?
This one I did kind of a sepia feel. My mom has been asking me to find some pictures that are colors of our bathroom and make them sepia so we can frame them! Yah!
Wow! ^This picture used to look pretty ugly! Now it looks waaay better!
 Gotta love pink flowers!
This one has to be one of my favorites. I just love it!

Which one was your favorite?

People in my cabin

If you didn't read THIS post, you probably don't know that I was at camp! I just wanted to share with you who was in my cabin. There were 12 people total. Sadly, one girl broke her arm on the second day, so we "recruited" the nurse's daughter to stay with us. There were seven on my side of the cabin, three (the counselors) in the middle, and two on the other side of the cabin. The two were alone because they were apart of a different camp, sailing camp. So... here they are!

This is Ella, I have a lot of pictures of her because we went to camp together.
Kajsa and Amber. They were in the Sailing Camp.
This is Grace with her face paint on.
This is the nurse's daughter that stayed with us for a few nights.
This is Kalie. She was SO nice!
This is a {horrible} picture my side of the cabin. The girl right next to me is Sophie. She didn't want any other picture taken of her. The one with her head down is Mary... she absolutely hated pictures!
This is my main counselor and I. Her name is Rachel. She was SO nice! She would randomly come up to me and give me a nice, heartwarming hug. She was always with us.
This was my other counselor, Ashley. She was also really nice. I didn't get to see her as much as Rachel though because she was with the sailors, sailing.

This was my YSL (Youth Servant Leader). YSL's come to camp a total of 2 weeks. One week for training and one week to see what it's like to be counselor. Her name is Sarah and she was amazing. She had a TON of crazy stories to tell us... wow. :-)

Well, I hope you enjoyed these pictures of my new friends! :-) Have you ever gone to camp? Have you ever heard of Camp Omega?

Bible verse of the week #13

LOVE this picture!

This verse is really reassuring. There are no more trials... it's over!! That's all there is to it! This also reminds us of the promise that God gave to Noah. That there wouldn't be another flood as great as the one that Noah survived. The "covenant" is what Jesus did on the cross. He saved us from all of our sins. We are washed clean from our sins. Isn't that just a comforting thought?

The amazing Camp Omega

Well, if you didn't know, I was just at camp. It was the first time I was at camp for a week! I had SO much fun, I can not explain how much fun I had! Here are some pictures! :-) This is just a brief overview of what we did! I will post some more pictures.

This is me on my kayak.
I just love this picture! It is the top of the kayak and I think it looks really cool with the water on top and everything.
We did TONS of swimming. We went swimming 5 times; one day we went twice. The one day that we went twice, we went for a night swim with all of the cabins/people. It was pretty crazy!
Archery... fun, but not my favorite.
And we played LOTS of games everyday! To tell the teams apart, we had to wear face paint like everyday to know who was on what team.

Bible verse of the week #12

(I'm at church camp and having a blast... well i'm pretty sure I will be. :-))

This week, I decided to direct you to videos since I'm gone and busy. They do have a message... just wait.

Just plain pointless...

I like these next few because they really ask questions that we would be asking.

This one is so...so wrong.

Just no...

Well, I hope you got a good laugh from those videos! I thought they were better than a 20 minute long speech. :-)

My daily doings

What I did when I was in Nebraska and Colorado.

Day 1:
  • We left at 3:15 PM
  • We went to a few stores before leaving
  • I watched Despicable Me in the car
  • We arrived in Nebraska (NE) at around 10:00 PM
  • There was a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l sunset! (it was the one I entered in Kiley's contest)
I think this is a different photo, but it's the same sunset.

 Day 2:
  • My mom and my younger brother got a haircut
  • We bought fireworks
  • My grandpa (I call him Opa) made us brotchun (a kind of bread)
  • We visited with family
  • My friend Megan came and visited
  • We had a firework show at my grandparents house
  • We had potatoes, fruit, and pork for dinner
Day 3:
  • I woke up at 5:30 AM
  • We left for Colorado at 7:00 AM

  •  Swimming again
  • My brother and I got souvenirs
Day 7:
