Wanting

Have you ever wanted something really badly? Have you ever asked yourself, "Do I really need this?" or "Will this build my relationship with God?"

I will be the first to admit I want something. Some things are really little and some things are really big. Here are some things I want:
  1. A new, better camera
  2. People to look at me and say, "SHE is a Christian."
  3. Summer to come/nicer weather
  4. School to be out
  5. Vacation out of this country
  6. A study Bible
Yes, the list could go on and on. I want a lot of things... but do I really need the things? What things do you want? Some things we have to wait for. I will probably get a study Bible next year... in exactly one year, when I become confirmed. I'll just have to wait for nicer weather and summer, until then, I will just have to work extra hard in school. I will be rewarded when school is over. Here is a little poem... by Anonymous.

Wanting Something

Wanting something so much
it scares me,
but I continue to crave and long for it.
I feel like I'm going to suffer
from an emotional fit.
Not knowing what to think
or what to expect,
I fear what will happen
if I don't react.
My heart yearns
for just one more touch
and I feel I'll never get it
even though I want it so much.

Wants Vs. Needs

By: Charles Ray Covington

Wants we do not need.
Needs we do not want.
What then does this become?
Shall wants be indulged,
Leaving needs therefore neglected.
-Or-
Shall needs all be provided,
Leaving want therefore reflected.
Could there possibly be an answer?
Try a simple solution within.
-Want what is needed-
And the confusion will end.

At the end of the day, God gives us what we need. He gives us more than we need! How many of us have cars, computers, electronics, ect.? I know I do! We don't really need those things though. God gives us His love, and that's all we can fathom.
